My life that was....
Hi all I thought it was a very good time to tell you about my life, My life till now has been extremely interesting, not always in a good way but interesting nevertheless,my real life began when I left the walls of the factory and was taken in a truck and placed on the shelf of a shop. The very same day a man brought another of my kind for repair. My colleague's condition was so bad that no amount of repairs could cure him and eventually died a slow death. And so began the most memorable journey of my life....
I was given as a replacement to the dead one. I was extremely scared as I found out from my other mates that I was the third one to be sent to that particular house. To calm myself down I feel asleep soon after I was placed in a cover and sold. When I got up I found two people looking at me, their faces full of joy. I was extremely happy. I felt as if I belonged. I was wondering why the others had been so scared of this house. For the first few days I was treated really well. I was pressed gently, placed carefully and treated royally by the two people I first met. I realized that these two were my bosses (Just to differentiate I decided to call them boss1 and boss2) and I was happy to obey their commands.
Then suddenly came a day when things didn't feel right. I sensed tension in the air. A few words exchanged, angry glares and finally I was thrown onto the ground. That’s when I understood what the others had been scared of. It hurt and hurt like hell.Boss2 had gone into her room and the boss1 was still glaring. The tension between them lasted a day and I didn't like the atmosphere at all. I was worried that this was how life was going to be form now on. To my relief, I found things were back to normal the very next day. Some kind of compromise had been made and I was happy. But I didn't know that the compromise would add to my workload, I had to keep emitting every few seconds. My body ached due to the constant pressure applied to my buttons, but then my bosses seemed happy and so I bore the pain patiently.
That’s when I started to wonder what exactly was the relationship between my two bosses. They seemed so mad at each other at one instant and behaved as if they were the world's best buddies the very next. Luckily I was in the best place to hear and see them as I was always placed between them. I found that on some days when they were in really good moods they would share a joke and laugh their heads off. Some others I would find boss1 talking about the olden times, anecdote after anecdote, incident after Incident and boss2 listening at times and just nodding for the heck of it at some others. At times I found one boss singing Telugu songs so loudly that I would want to scream and ask her shut up (because I am a Tamil and didn't understand a word) but no one would ever ask her to stop. In fact my other boss would only be in awe asking her how she managed to learn the lyrics. Then there were days when cricket matches and exams coincided, I would find one boss studying and the other running to her room wherever a wicket fell to give her the score. On the days of an exam boss2 would seem really tensed and boss1 would always have words of encouragement. She seemed to have enormous amount of confidence in her. Then there were days when the current would go off and I would find my two bosses singing Tamil songs in unison, now those where the sessions I enjoyed. And of late these have been times when one boss would recite her poems and sing her songs and ask for a comment from the other one, who would invariably say good (now only I know she didn't always listen).
And finally would come a day when they would go back to square one with all the glares and stares and remote throwing incidents followed by a day of tension and the whole cycle would continue...
One day about two weeks ago, I woke up in the morning and found myself in some peculiar place, I asked around and found out that it was a cupboard. The environ was new and I was scared. I was in it for days together. One fine day I was brought out by someone I didn't recognize and was used by so many people I didn't really know...I missed my bosses and kept looking out for them in their normal places (the sofa) but never found them there. And suddenly I caught a glimpse of boss2 who was looking grave. I was surprised that she saw me but didn't even bother to pick me up and use me. It was then that I understood that things were different .I learnt that boss1 was going to be permanently absent and boss2 wasn’t planning to show the same kind of interest. The cycle would never repeat. Under normal circumstances I should have been happy because I would never get mishandled again. My body would never really ache again and I would finally get some peace. But somehow I only felt empty. It just didn't seem right. The environment had lost its charm and I had lost my interest. I decided to shut my mind cause I didn't want to listen to or watch anything/event that didn't figure my two bosses together...It would just never be the same again.
In case you haven't guessed I am the TV remote control
